Creative Audio Custom Engineering

Many of Creative Audio's unique products have been the outcome of custom engineering projects undertaken on behalf of our customers. Significant examples of custom engineering projects include:

Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House had a requirement to renew its stage management desks and performance paging systems after 20 years of service. Creative Audio was called upon to design and implement a custom solution which is detailed in the following pages. From this project a number of products evolved including the MP405 Remote Controlled Microphone Preamplifier, and many elements of the Creative Audio ControlMatrix system.

Schools of Distance Education (SODE)
Queensland and Northern Territory

Creative Audio designed and developed purpose built studio and control systems designed to bring operational efficiency and flexibility to 'Schools of the Air'. A unique digital 'control of analog' approach, customised operational surfaces for the teachers, and ensuring a high level of reliability and automation are key elements of this project.

Stadium Australia

The home of the 2000 Olympic's Opening and Closing Ceremonies required a simple but comprehensive control system. For this venue Creative Audio further developed its ControlNet paging and message control system, tailoring it for large venue applications. Stadium Australia also saw the first application of Creative Audio's USP2/CN CobraNet amplifier module, developed in collaboration with Crown Audio.

St Mary's Cathedral in Sydney is the sixth largest cathedral in the world. It has a reverb time in excess of 6 seconds, requiring a unique sound reinforcement solution to ensure intelligibility. In the absence of a suitable cost effective solution, Creative Audio designed the DCS-001 beam steered array loudspeaker along with its associated GUI interface.
